Free Teleclass: Top 4 Nutrition Myths
Think you know what “healthy eating” is all about? THINK AGAIN.
If our health or weight is not what we want, many of us blame ourselves. We imagine we simply lack the willpower needed to follow the standard dietary advice offered up by the media and those around us.
But there is another possibility. The standard dietary advice itself may be flawed.
We humans have changed our diets more in the past 40 years than in the previous 400,000 years. These dietary shifts have been driven by two factors: (1) the industrialization of our food supply AND (2) a wealth of new advice about how to eat, much of which first “took hold” in the 1970s.
Unfortunately, rates of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, childhood behavioral disorders, and many other ailments have skyrocketed during the same 40 year period. The “new advice” has left many of us sicker, thoroughly confused....and hungry.
A great deal of new nutrition research has been done in the past few decades, and a surprising amount of the findings from this research (which fly in the face of what you read in Good Housekeeping about how to eat) have not been broadly publicized outside nutrition research circles.
