CLIENT REACTIONS & LETTERS

"A couple of years ago I bought some Lands End pants that I liked because they slimmed me down a bit -- size 12.   Lately they were hanging off me, so I went back this year to get the same thing in a 10...and discovered I now have to buy size 8's!    I'm also able to buy size small in tops again -- I have narrow shoulders so anything above a small looks hefty, but I was having to buy medium or large so that I wouldn't look like a quart stuffed in a pint pot.

People are starting to notice that I've lost a lot of weight.   The amazing thing is I feel like I'm stuffing myself night and day!  I never have cravings any more because I'm satisfied.   Joe and I were laughing the other day about how we're stuffing our faces and getting slimmer all the time.

Honestly, once I hit that middle aged fat, nothing seemed to shift it...even exercise.   When I was younger, as soon as I started exercising I would lose weight, but suddenly, at 45, that didn't work any more.   Now I'm in my early 50s, I figured I would never really look slim again, unless I was prepared to deal with feeling hungry a lot of the time and exercising enormous self-discipline over an extended period, and I really couldn't see that happening.

I can't believe how completely effortless this has been!   I am exercising too, but hey, I was doing that anyway and it wasn't making a huge difference."

"I took several of your teleclasses and I want you to know the impact that they and you have had on my life.   I have made wonderful changes in my diet as well as that of my family and the benefits have been tremendous.  Our home is more peaceful, we eat better, and I have lost over 40 pounds with diet changes alone.   I feel better than ever before in my life.    Thank you.   Many people have been asking what I did, how I did it, etc."

"Thank you so much for taking the time to meet with me and help me learn so much!    On a great side note, it was like a switch got turned with my son Stevie.    Starting on Monday night he is now eating everything that I am putting in front of him and asking for more!!   He says it tastes yummy now.   I didn't change anything I just was persistent that he couldn't have the chicken nuggets and all that unhealthy junk.    I never ever would have thought that Stevie would be eating grilled chicken, veggie stir frys, and anything else "healthy"    He was my struggle...!"

"My tactics are working great!!!!   I am down 2 lbs this week, but more so my energy levels are higher and I am feeling really good.   On a really odd side note, my hair dresser commented that my hair is growing really fast and I have noticed my nails are stronger and growing quicker than before...could that be a result of the foods I am eating???   At the wedding people were quizzing me wanting to know what I have been doing (they said I am looking really good) and I explained briefly about your program (They were shocked to see me put butter and salt on my chicken) but I promised them I would email them your contact info.   Lots of family members seemed very interested in learning more."

"Kirstin has a wealth of information on nutrition and backed up her recommendations to me with strong arguments based on research studies. So, I tried what she suggested.  The effect was dramatic.  The daytime fatigue and tiredness I had been experiencing was greatly reduced within a week.  My sleep was sounder and deeper.  Muscle inflammation that I had experienced was significantly reduced.   Also, I started to lose weight without feeling hungry (indeed, I felt sated).   My family has now totally changed its eating habits with good results all around."

"I want to tell you how much we've enjoyed working with you on food.    It's been very inspirational for us and made us look at many things that we eat.  While we do grow quite a bit of our own food you allowed us to expand our knowledge of the importance of what we eat every day.  Our conversations have opened up many areas for us to explore and I can say we both can see the wisdom you have shared with us.  Without you we'd never have taken the plunge on several new foods -- or fully understood the importance of eating actual food, instead of "edible foodlike substances".   Your information was well researched and documented, but what we really appreciated was your listening skills. You took the time to listen to our concerns and questions and provide the answers we have been looking for."

"Thanks so much for your teleclass last night.  It was really great.   Some things were shocking to me, like putting butter on veggies!   I just got my husband to like his veggies plain after 14 years!  :-)    Having us write what our children eat was very eye opening for me.   I realized how little protein and fats, especially fats, my kids are getting, particularly one of my girls who hates butter, salad dressing, dips of any kind, nuts, etc.   My kids are all very slim and healthy looking.   I thought we were doing ok.   You have made me look at things differently.  I cannot wait until the next session!"

(From mother of 11-year old)  "Trevor has shown great developmental progress since we've implemented your dietary recommendations.   I already told you how well he did at a very intense 4 days of music camp in July, going from one class to another all day (and learning a large amount of repertoire in the 3 or 4 weeks beforehand).

Also, his vocabulary has exploded.    I'm hearing works like inanimate, excruciating, and so on used correctly.   He used to pick up words but misuse them and it wouldn't make any difference if you told him.   Recently I said something and he said "I concur!"   When I asked him where he learned it, he said, "On TV, but I figured out what it meant and I was right."    That wouldn't have happened before.   Previously it would have gone over his head, or he would have "figured it out" wrong.

The other thing is jokes.  He would say things that he thought were funny, but they weren't really, like little kids do.   Recently my mom was telling a story from her youth about how a clerk in a Swiss bank was shocked at a request that she made, and Trevor immediately quipped, "Would you like to pass out here, or in the vault?!"   I can't imagine that happening 6 months ago!

We're still implementing the full "no grain" thing for Trevor -- we've pretty much been doing that but we all fell off the wagon a bit in the last few days.   Trevor actually made bread with almond flour today -- it's currently in the bread machine and we'll see how it turns out.   I'm hoping for continued improvement."
